Queen City Club Fundraisers (Past & Present)
Men About Town Benefit – A past fundraiser that was held in the Spring of each year the annual benefit featured “Men of the Ozarks” offering up their time, talent and skills. A night of auction fun and live entertainment includes something for everyone.
Sertoma Trivia – Quarterly Trivia Nights are fun for all as amateur trivia buffs compete for cash prises and more!
Sertoma Callithump – “Callithump” defined as a loud boisterous party of friendly people! Held on the Sertoma Parking lot, each month during First Friday Artwalk – Downtown Springfield – Spring, Summer and Fall months. This collaborative effort of Queen City Club and friends** offers up a Beer Garden, local musicians, beautiful jewelry from Guatemala, food and fun! **Heart of the Ozarks and H.O.L.A. Sertoma Clubs participate.
Annual Holiday Wreath Sale – An original project of the BGCS Ladies Auxiliary – Queen City Club inherited the project and has breathed new life into this holiday fundraiser. Fresh wreaths, garland, centerpieces and more are pre-sold by members in October and are available for pickup the first week of December.
Sertoma Chili Cook-Off – This inter-club fundraiser is held in February each year and is a collaborative effort that includes participation from all Springfield area Sertoma clubs. The Chili Cook-Off might be considered the annual Mardi Gra for the Ozarks. The single day event offers up all sorts of fun – colorful booths and costumes and crowd pleasing chili for all. Approximately 8000 people attend this event each year.
